I saw Shoes at an open-mic night that he was spinning at.
I think it was on 8 mile, at the Cactus Lounge.
He gave me this cd that ended up having all kinds of classic jazzish type joints.
Real easy going music.
I woke up to that cd for like 2 months straight!...loved it.
The Buddha Lounge is a place in Detroit also on 8 mile road.
A low-key joint.
I don't really know the story of the music coming from there, I think it was played back and Shoes just mixed everything down and put it out for good listening.
I met back up with Shoes at a place called Northern Lights and he was there spinning as well.
I gave him an early recording of it, but I don't think he listened to it.
He moved to Cali' for good so I suppose I'll hit him up on MySpace and send a physical copy of the finished product.
